Inspiring the Next Generation of Musicians

At Anaina Hou, we believe every child has a song to share. Our youth music programs are designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and nurture lifelong skills through the joy of music. Whether your child is picking up an instrument for the first time or continuing their musical journey, we offer lessons that are fun, engaging, and personalized to their level.

Our youth music lessons offer hands-on instruction in guitar, ukulele, voice, piano, and percussion. Each class blends structured learning with creativity, giving students the opportunity to explore rhythm, melody, and performance in a supportive environment.

We focus on developing fundamental musical skills — from reading notes and understanding tempo to building stage confidence. Classes are taught by passionate local instructors who bring years of experience and aloha to each session.

Meet your instructor

Aloha, my name is Taylor Phelps, and I am grateful to have been brought on as the new Youth Program Coordinator here at Anaina Hou Community Park! I graduated from the University of Colorado-Denver after earning a BA in Environmental Science, and a MA in Education & Human Development. I am a licensed Hawaii-Qualified Teacher in 6th-12th grade Science, Social Studies & STEM education. I taught middle school students in Hawai’i for 5 years, and managed a music center’s youth program here on Kaua’i for over 2 years after that while working with the County. I am now truly stoked to be designing & building youth programs here at AHCP, including an outdoor adventure camp, modern music program, and multiple summer camps, with many more to follow! When I’m not working with students here at AHCP, I am most likely practicing my basslines, enjoying the outdoors, at home cooking, or reading science fiction with my wife and bunny.
