FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Home in the Islands® Kauaʻi
Brings Community Together
for Two Days of Music, Aloha and Celebration
KĪLAUEA, KAUAʻI (September 29, 2026) – Anaina Hou Community Park (AHCP), in partnership with the Henry Kapono Foundation (HKF), will present Home in the Islands® Kauaʻi on November 20 and 21, 2026, bringing together musicians, community members and supporters for two days of live music and celebration at Anaina Hou Community Park in Kīlauea.
Originally planned for October, the event has been rescheduled and reimagined following Hurricane Lowell and the weeks of recovery that followed across Kauaʻi’s North Shore.
During the storm and its aftermath, Anaina Hou shifted from its normal community programming and revenue-generating operations into its role as the Kīlauea Resilience Hub, supporting North Shore recovery efforts with meals, ice distribution, emergency power, charging stations, community intake assistance and coordination with disaster-response organizations and volunteers.
Home in the Islands® Kauaʻi will now mark an important return to gathering together, celebrating the people who stepped forward during the recovery and supporting the community organizations, musicians and programs that help make Kauaʻi home. “The last several weeks have reminded us what a community space is really here to do,” said Ben Karon, CEO of Anaina Hou Community Park. “When our community needed help, the concerts and events stopped and Anaina Hou became a place for food, power, ice, information and connection. Home in the Islands gives us an opportunity to come back together on the other side of that experience, celebrate our community and enjoy some incredible Hawaiʻi music while supporting the work ahead.”
The two-day celebration begins Friday, November 20, with Aloha Unplugged, an intimate evening supporting Anaina Hou Community Park and its year-round work in community programming, music education and artist development. The evening will feature dinner, stories and live performances from celebrated Hawaiʻi musicians, emerging Kauaʻi artists and special guests.
The celebration continues Saturday, November 21, with Home in the Islands® with Henry Kapono & Friends, featuring Grammy-nominated Henry Kapono alongside special guest artists and rising local talent. The evening will celebrate the songs, stories, people and aloha that connect Hawaiʻi’s communities.

The partnership also continues Anaina Hou and HKF’s shared commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Hawaiʻi musicians. Through mentorship, education and programs such as HKF’s On the Rise artist development initiative, the organizations are working together to help emerging Kauaʻi artists develop the skills, relationships and opportunities necessary to build sustainable careers in music. For Anaina Hou, the weekend also represents an important step toward recovery. As a nonprofit community park, revenue generated through concerts, cultural programming, recreation and community events helps sustain the facilities and staff that allow the organization to serve the North Shore throughout the year, including when those resources are needed most during an emergency.
Home in the Islands® Kauaʻi is an opportunity to celebrate recovery, support Hawaiʻi music and invest in the community infrastructure that keeps Kauaʻi connected. Ticket, sponsorship and Aloha Unplugged information will be available through Anaina Hou Community Park.

Celebrating Hawaiʻi’s Music Legacy “Home in the Islands isn’t just a festival – it’s a movement,” said Henry Kapono, award-winning musician and co-founder of the Henry Kapono Foundation. “It’s about celebrating the music, people, and spirit of Hawaiʻi, while creating opportunities for musicians to build fulfilling careers here at home or abroad – by choice, not necessity.” Home in the Islands® continues HKF’s mission to elevate Hawaiʻi’s music, connect generations of artists and create opportunities for Hawaiʻi musicians while keeping the heart of the program rooted firmly at home.
